‘last euro for them’ – mourinho expresses sadness over three players

Newly appointed Fenerbahce manager, Jose Mourinho has shared his thoughts on the illustrious careers of Real Madrid legends Cristiano Ronaldo, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.

Mourinho expressed sadness over the impending retirements of the three players in an interview with Philipp Kessler (via Madrid Zone on X).

The three players achieved remarkable success during their tenure at Real Madrid.

At 39 and 38, Ronaldo and Modric, respectively, are likely playing their final European Championships.

Kroos had already announced his retirement from professional football following Euro 2024.

The Portuguese said: “To watch Euro with sadness? Because I believe Tonki Kroos, Luka Modric, and Cristiano Ronaldo, it is the last Euro for them.

“And I say sadness, because players like them, we don’t see very often.”
