A man, 21, has broken down in tears after pleading with his 'sugar mummy' lover, 34, to lend him some money to give to his family.

Tensions reach new heights in a new series of 90 Day Fiancé UK, when Johan, from the Dominican Republic, tearfully asks his older lover, Charlotte, from Southampton, to give him $140 for his mother and grandmother.

Charlotte, a barber, fell head over heels for Johan, a member of a hotel entertainment team, while holidaying with her mother and step-father. The couple then decided to get married, despite only spending three weeks together in person.

Since then, Charlotte's mother has expressed her concerns about her whirlwind relationship and is worried that she will be used as a 'sugar mummy'.

Johan did nothing to dampen suspicions after requesting $60 for his mother, and a further $80 for his grandmother so that she could buy 'rice' and pay her 'electric' bill.

In the show, the pair were seen enjoying a romantic dinner in the Dominican Republic when Johan broke down in tears.

He explained to her: 'You know how much I love my grandmother'.

His fiancée, dressed in a dazzling lilac asymmetric bodycon dress responded: 'We can help them'.

Holding back tears, Johan told her not to worry, but his dutiful partner insisted she would like to help.

'You know, tomorrow we have to give to, you know, someone. My mom, my grandmother' he said.

'Because, you know, they depend of (on) me, you know. [I need for my] mum $60 and $80 for my grandmom.' he continued.

Charlotte, who was visibly shocked, told him 'that's a lot' and later asked: 'What does she need it for?'

Johan then listed 'electric', 'rice' and 'money' as the cause of his sudden financial request.

Caving in to her lover's demands, Charlotte said: 'You can't do everything so I'm going to have to pay for a lot, yeah? It's a lot of responsibility'.

Later on in the show, Johan was singing Charlotte's praises and told producers that she 'has money' and is a 'good woman'.

He said: 'Charlotte, she have some money. Me and my family, we think she's a good woman. You know, she looked after me and we have everything'.

The couple's courtship has so far included speaking on the phone three times a day, and telling each other how much they love one another. Charlotte also made a return visit to spend time with him.

Speaking on the series, Charlotte said of her man: 'He is gorgeous, he's a little bit of a cheeky chap and his eyes are to die for.

'I was absolutely gobsmacked that he was wanting to marry me. I thought, "How did I get so lucky?".

'I know it sounds pretty crazy but I've never been this in love with someone before and I'm going to follow my heart'.

When Charlotte met Johan he was 20 years old but she was told that he was much older than his actual age.

When she found out how young he was, she 'freaked out' and 'put her head in her hands' but it did not stop her from falling for him.

But Charlotte's mother expressed her concerns about her whirlwind relationship and is worried that she will used as a 'sugar mummy'.

Johan and Charlotte are already trying to have children together, with the 34-year-old hinting that they are having unprotected sex.

Johan wants to have twins and Charlotte said she really wants to start a family with her fiancé.

But Charlotte's mother, told her: 'I do have a few concerns.

'Everyone says to me, "Is it because he wants a ticket over here?". It goes through my mind, Charlotte - and I'm your mother and if I didn't mention it and something did go wrong, then I wouldn't forgive myself.'

The barber said she finds these judgements 'very offensive', revealing they make her feel that she is 'not good enough'.

When asked who would be paying for the wedding, Charlotte admitted that she would be 'picking up most of the bill'.

Her stepfather then asked whether she had sent any money to Johan, who is 13 years her junior.

'I sent him some money for his birthday. I have helped out with two things. When I left the Dominican, I left him a little bit of money to say thank you and for his passport.

'When they had a hurricane, I got his mother a new roof.'

But Charlotte's mother was less than impressed and said: 'Well I don't really agree with that. You're not their sugar mummy, that's not your place.'

Her daughter then responded: 'It is hard because they don't always have what we have and I thought: "How are these people going to cope?"

Her mother then responded: 'Well they would've had to if you hadn't been there.'

Charlotte's wedding will be taking place in the Dominican Republic and 80 guests will be in attendance, although only two of them will be on the bride's side.
