WTA Rankings: Emma Raducanu +44, Naomi Osaka +11, Bianca Andreescu +65

It was a positive start to the grass-court season for Emma Raducanu, Naomi Osaka and Bianca Andreescu, with the former US Open champions all climbing the WTA Rankings.

Karolina Pliskova and Diane Parry have also made significant jumps, while Marta Kostyuk and Emma Navarro both reached new career-high rankings.

Jessica Pegula and Ons Jabeur were the only players in the top 10 of the WTA Rankings to play a tournament last week, while five of the top 20 competed in what was the week after Roland Garros.

Pegula returned from injury to play for the first time in two months and she has stayed at world No 5 after her second round defeat at the Rosmalen Championships. Jabeur remains in 10th position after her quarter-final loss to Pliskova in Nottingham.

Ekaterina Alexandrova has fallen four places from 16th to 20th following her semi-final defeat to world No 15 and eventual winner Liudmila Samsonova in Rosmalen. The 29-year-old Russian dropped points after winning the previous two editions of the WTA 250 event.

Two players who have benefitted from Alexandrova’s drop are Kostyuk, who lost in the opening round in Nottingham, and Emma Navarro, who did not compete last week.

Kostyuk is up to a new career-high ranking of world No 16, while Navarro has also reached her best-ever position of 17th. Beatriz Haddad Maia also moved up two places to 18th despite not playing.

Former world No 1 Pliskova climbed eight spots from 50th to 42nd after her run to the final in Nottingham, while Diane Parry — who she downed in the semi-finals — jumped from 64th to 53rd.

Katie Boulter dropped from 3oth to 31st after defending her title in Nottingham, while Raducanu leapt 44 places from 209th to 165th for reaching the semi-finals.

Andreescu made a huge 65-spot climb to world No 163 after her runner-up result in Rosmalen, where she was beaten by Samsonova. This was the 2019 US Open champion’s first final in two years.

Four-time Grand Slam champion Osaka was beaten by Andreescu in an entertaining three-set quarter-final match at the event. This run has moved the former world No 1 up 11 places from 125th to 113th.
