Olivia Newton-John's daughter Chloe Lattanzi 'heartbroken' her mother's Californian ranch has been put on the market for $14million: 'There will be a few tears shed'

Olivia Newton-John's daughter Chloe Lattanzi is said to be 'heartbroken' by the impending sale of her mother's Californian ranch.

Olivia's widower John Easterling has put the four-bedroom property up for sale with an asking price of US$8.965million (AUD$13.57million), according to People.

Australian music icon Olivia died at the age 73 at the Santa Ynez home on August 8, 2022, following a 20-year battle with breast cancer.

Her daughter Chloe, 38, who she shared with Matt Lattanzi, is said to be 'devastated' by the sale of the ranch, which holds many fond memories of her beloved mother.

The move is said to be 'heartbreaking' for the entire family, but they came to the difficult decision due to the high costs of keeping up the 12-acre estate.

A source told Woman's Day magazine: 'It's devastating for everyone, but this is a money issue. The maintenance on the estate and the annual tax bill is crazy.

'Chloe has so many memories shared with her mum on that ranch, the horses, all named by Olivia, ridden by her, the house, and the garden, it's going to be incredibly difficult for Chloe to let this property go. Sadly, they have no choice.'

The source claimed keeping the home would have financially impacted the work being done by Olivia's charities and foundations as they detailed the heart wrenching decision.

'There will be a few tears shed when this place sells, but it's what Olivia would have wanted,' they added.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Chloe's representatives for comment.

The four-bedroom, five-bathroom house was purchased by Grease actress Olivia in 2015 for US$4.69million (AUD$6.7million).

The property, built in 1975, also boasts a two-bedroom guest house as well as a pool, a barn and stables for horses being among the estate's lavish amenities.

The ranch, located about 200km north west of Los Angeles near the Santa Ynez River, also features an outdoor kitchen, game room and detached four-car-garage.

'Olivia and I made many wonderful memories at our home in Florida and the ranch in California,' John told People.

'The message that keeps coming through so clearly is to love life, live life, and never forget about the good things that are going on.'

'The 'Indian Way' Ranch in Santa Ynez is a spectacular property where I can see a new family having great nature adventures and relishing the life experience,' he went on.

The listing for the home adds: 'This 12+/-acre private estate is built out to the highest level of quality and sophistication, located on one of the rare parcels fronting the Santa Ynez River.'

Olivia listed her beloved ranch for US$5.4million (AUD$7.7million) in 2019, but the property was taken off the market as she decided to spend her last days in the home.

Olivia fought several brave battles against cancer before her death in 2022.

She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992, which was successfully treated.

She went into remission, but it later returned in both 2013 and 2017.

Olivia's death resulted in an outpouring of public grief and heartfelt tributes from those close to her including Grease co-star John Travolta and Victorian premier Dan Andrews, who offered a state funeral in her honour.
