Search for missing woman in South Carolina ends with discovery in Australia
Authorities said she doesn't plan to return 'anytime soon.'
GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. — A woman missing in a South Carolina state park has been found - in Australia.
According to the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office, the family had reported 56-year-old Rita Priyadarshani Francis missing, saying she had last been seen in Huntington Beach State Park on May 25. However, in an update provided by the sheriff's office on Sunday, Francis has since been found in Australia.
The sheriff's office said the Australian Federal Police found Francis. As for what happens next, a Melbourne official allegedly told local authorities she doesn't plan to return to the U.S. anytime soon.
