Bryson DeChambeau dedicated his US Open victory to his late father after a wild finish to the tournament at Pinehurst.

DeChambeau's father, Jon, was diagnosed with Diabetes in the 1990s and suffered a kidney failure in 2014. After a lengthy battle with the condition, Jon sadly passed away in November 2022.

After securing his second US Open win on Father's Day, DeChambeau dedicated the victory to his dad.

'First off, I wanna say Happy Father's Day to every father out there,' DeChambeau said. 'Unfortunately, my dad passed [away] a couple years ago, and this one's for him.'

Following his dad's passing nearly two years ago, the PGA Tour star posted a group of pictures and expressed his gratitude for the life Jon lived.

Rory McIlroy leaves US Open IMMEDIATELY after humiliating Pinehurst collapse

'Love you Dad,' he wrote in a tweet. 'I'm sad to see you go but you've been through way too much pain in this life. I'm so happy you are at peace.'

'Now you get to be with me and watch me at every event I play. Thank you for being an amazing Dad and I'll see you in the next life.'

After his triumph on Sunday, DeChambeau looked up and pointed to the sky on multiple occasions. One of the men on his team also hugged him while exclaiming: 'That's for your dad, baby. That's for your dad.'

The dramatic ending came at the expense of Rory McIlroy, who choked in his attempt to re-enter the winner's circle.

DeChambeau brilliantly saved par from a fairway bunker on the 72nd hole, but a devastated McIlroy is left to wonder how he let his best chance to end a 10-year wait for a fifth major title slip through his fingers.

'I feel like I was hitting the driver pretty well today,' the winner claimed. 'It just really wasn't starting the way I wanted to. Ultimately, on 13, I knew I had to make birdie there to get myself a chance as Rory was going on a heater.'

'He slipped up a couple on the way in, and I just kept staying the course. [I] Focused on getting as many fairways I could, even when I didn't. I wasn't great today with that.'

'I got out of trouble pretty well. And man, I can't believe that up and down - that was probably the best shot of my life.'
