Triple J star Bryce Mills quits his breakfast show after taking time off to focus on his mental health
Triple J breakfast show host Bryce Mills announced his departure from the radio program on Monday.
The 30-year-old, who has been co-hosting the show since 2021, explained on air that this was his dream job but he feels burnt out.
'I think I've probably averaged five hours (of sleep) a night in three and a half years,' he said.
He also shared a YouTube video, explaining his decision to leave and revealing that he has struggled with mental health issues.
Mills said he had even contemplated taking his life earlier this year and his bosses gave him four weeks off to focus on his mental health.

'I was pretty sure something was pretty bad at that point, and I was still trying to find the right balance with things like medication,' he explained.
Mills said the break was 'life-changing' and helped him 'open up and be vulnerable'.
He continued: 'I promise you, when you take a bit of distance, when you open up and be vulnerable about these things, you just don't know what's going to be around the corner.'
Mills' final day hosting Triple J breakfast will be Friday June 21st.
He initially co-hosted the program with Ebony Boadu before she was replaced by his current co-host, Concetta Caristo.

Mills will be replaced by Luka Muller, who previously hosted Triple J Weekend Arvos.
Following the announcement, Luka said in a statement: 'I can't even begin to process how excited I am to join triple j Breakfast.'
'I've been tuning into the station since I was ten years old. Listening to the Breakfast show on my way to high school shaped my taste in music and introduced me to the idea of becoming a comedian, which has shaped my entire life ever since.
'Oh God, even saying that out loud, I'm getting overwhelmed!'
