While there are number of conservative (non-surgical) ways to treat bunions, the only way to get rid of them is by having surgery. Conservative options include: adjustments in footwear (such as choosing low-heeled shoes with a wide toe box) shoe inserts bunion pads ice pain relievers splints stretching exercises Bunion surgery is generally reserved for people with severe pain and trouble walking that has not improved despite several months of conservative treatment.

A bunion is a bony bump that grows at the base of the big toe of your foot. To get rid of bunions it is advised to wear shoes with low or no heels and soft soles, avoid wearing high heels, always wear proper sized and comfortable footwear, avoid wearing flip-flops, use bunion pads, lose weight to decrease the pressure on the toe, rest your feet from time to time. Do proper foot exercises, try to stretch your toes, and move your big toe around, exercising your feet can strengthen them. To reduce pain and inflammation use an ice pack, soak your feet in warm water with Epsom salt, take pain killer medicine after consulting with your doctor. Surgery can help you get rid of bunions completely, there are many surgical procedures to fix them.

Bunion is the popular name given to the medical condition called hallux valgus. It is a deformity of the hallux (also known as the big toe), usually reactive to repetitive trauma, the use of inappropriate shoes, and which can cause pain and discomfort in the feet. When not treated properly, it can cause complications, most of which are painful, resulting from inflammation/synovitis that can develop in the finger-tarsal joint. To prevent its progression, it is important to wear suitable shoes, avoiding further pressure on the affected joint. Avoiding flip-flops, pointed shoes or shoes that are too tight is essential. For the cure, however, the treatment is surgical.
