Politicians 'use their platform to divide us'

I think there's a risk in this campaign, as there is in every election campaign, that some politicians seek to use their platform to divide us, to stoke up. Hatred against minorities to stoke up fear against other people living in this country. And I think that's a real problem because what it does is it creates a culture of fear, it creates a culture of suspicion and it creates divisions in our society, whereas what we really need during elections are positive agendas for how we change the future of our country. And how we really grapple with the real problems that we are facing rather than attempts to divide us further. And I have seen, you know, on the margins of our politics, I have seen some people willing to, for example, stoke fears about being taken over by Muslims. And I think that is a real threat to the cohesion of our country.
