Violent crime in Democrat-run cities has left residents 'legitimately in danger' from 'thugs, felons, and unhinged green hairs', Tomi Lahren has warned.

The Fox Nation commentator reminisced on her time living in LA when she would have to run the gauntlet on the streets of the city while working for the network.

The experience left her afraid to step outside her South Bay home, she told Outkick, and prompted her move to Tennessee.

'I could not go to Santa Monica, I had numerous assignments here in West Hollywood for Hannity where I'd go do like Man on the Street, people would be screaming at me,' she said.

'Living in Hermosa Beach I would go to like Tower 12, I had a girl push me up against the wall at Tower 12 and call me a name that starts with C.

A group of E-bike riders were filmed launching illegal fireworks into a crowded entertainment district in Hermosa Beach over the weekend, nearly hitting several children

'I mean this was like a daily thing I would have people following me around The Vons.

'It's not just me, thank goodness I live in Tennessee I feel badly for a lot of these people who don't have the protection of living in a place like I get to live in.

'There's a lot of people out there right now that are legitimately in danger and it's right here in LA and it's in New York and it's in Washington DC and its in Portland, and it's really sad.'

Her remarks came just days after California governor Gavin Newsom's announced plans to slash funding for law enforcement as the state struggles with a massive deficit of at least $45 billion.

The proposed budget includes a $97 million cut to trial court operations, $10 million to the Department of Justice's Division of Law Enforcement and over $80 million to the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, as reported by Fox News.

At the same time violent crime in Los Angeles rose by 2.9 percent in the first three months of 2024, and robberies increased by 9.5 percent, and homicides were up 28.1 percent.

Residents of Hermosa Beach suffered another night of misery last weekend as large gangs of e-bike riders stormed through the area launching fireworks into the crowded streets.

One shoplifter in Santa Monica accused a store owner of breaking the law in a dramatic footage released earlier this month after she tried to walk off with an armful of stolen jackets.

'You got my jacket and you need to give it back to me right now,' Amber Jolly of the Granercy Boutique told her.

Newsom's plan comes as major national stores and local businesses in California say they continue to face rampant theft and crime

The woman responded: 'Bro, you know what you're doing is illegal, you are not able to-.'

'You give me my jacket right now,' Jolly insisted, 'I'm not gonna have you stealing from my store!'

Jolly told CBS News that she felt that she had to confront the woman because theft has been at an all-time high in California.

'Businesses are closing left and right because of all this looting going on. The system is broken, nothing is being done about it,' Jolly said.

Many of those who are lucky enough have followed Lahren out of the state with 340,000 more leaving than arriving in 2022.

Los Angeles has 340,000 fewer people than it did in 2019, while San Francisco, San Diego and Santa Clara counties are each around 40,000 people short.

Florida meanwhile gained nearly 250,000, while Texas had 174,261.

California's population is 1.2 percent less than it was in 2019 will not reach pre-pandemic numbers until around 2032 on current trends.

Homelessness jumped 6 percent to more than 180,000 people in California last year, federal data show, despite the state spending $24 billion tackling homelessness in the five years to 2023.

And since 2013, the numbers have exploded by 53 percent with the state accounting for a third of America's entire homeless population.

Lahren faced a hostile response when she tweeted her exchange on X with some accusing her of cowardice in leaving LA.

'So if people from blue states move to Tennessee, you're not going to complain about that?' demanded Jerry Navarro.

'You simply went to CA full of unearned hubris, couldn't get the attention from Newsom you craved, and left. Period,' claimed WWonTwit.

But the 31-year-old was defiant, insisting she had done the only sensible thing.

'Another great reason to leave crap hole blue states that let thugs, felons and unhinged green hairs go buck wild,' she tweeted.
