Why The Las Vegas Raiders Shouldn't Pursue Dak Prescott in Free Agency
The Las Vegas Raiders are currently in the midst of a quarterback battle, including Aidan O'Connell and Gardner Minshew. However, if neither of those players work out in 2023, the Raiders could have another option, as Bleacher Report alluded to in a post on X on Friday:
Now, while Prescott is certainly more accomplished than any of the quarterbacks on the Raiders roster, Prescott might not make the most sense for the Raiders, for now at least, for a couple of reasons.

One reason Prescott might not be a good fit for the Raiders is due to his contract situation. Prescott is due for a new contract after the 2023 season, and it will likely be very expensive. While the Raiders do have a decent amount of cap space to spare, it doesn't seem like the best idea to use that on a quarterback.
Considering the way the roster is set up at the moment, it makes less sense the more you think about it. The Raiders are currently built as a team that would like to run the ball a lot, and play physical defense.
With that in mind, it doesn't make sense for the Raiders to spend a ton of money on a quarterback when their roster doesn't necessarily need that at the moment.
Finally, while the Raiders haven't made the playoffs over the past couple of seasons, they are on the precipice of the postseason. While it's not entirely his fault, Prescott has been unable to win in the postseason, and it wouldn't make a ton of sense for the Raiders to spend that kind of money on a player who hasn't proven that he can take his team to the next level yet.
