Kansas City Chiefs player Isaiah Buggs has been arrested again - this time on a domestic violence and burglary charge.

It comes just weeks after the Super Bowl winner was hit with a pair of misdemeanors in an animal cruelty case.

Buggs was booked in Alabama on Sunday morning before being released on a $5,000 bond, according to Tuscaloosa County jail records.

On May 30, Buggs handed himself into the police after being charged with two misdemeanor counts of second-degree animal cruelty in Tuscaloosa.

Buggs was accused of leaving two dogs on the back porch of his house, located near his alma mater, the University of Alabama.

According to legal documents, Tuscaloosa Police and Animal Control officers found a pitbull surrounded by feces and with no access to food or water.

First responders also found a black rottweiler mix locked in a metal cage - in direct sunlight - without access to food or water.

The civil petition says that the dogs were seized by the city because they were severely 'malnourished, emaciated and neglected.'

According to the docs, the residence appeared to be abandoned at the time of the initial call, though neighbors claimed the dogs had been out on the porch for at least ten days.

Investigators discovered that the house was being rented to Buggs and that his lease was terminated in April due to owing over $3,000 in back rent. Witnesses say that Buggs moved out of the house on or about March 19.

The Tuscaloosa County Animal Shelter euthanized the pitbull after it became increasingly aggressive and failed heartworm treatment.

Meanwhile, the Rottweiler mix tested positive for parvovirus and weighed a dangerously low 52 pounds when it arrived at the shelter.

It's yet another twist in a long offseason for the defending Super Bowl champions after multiple members of the team have been arrested or embroiled in controversy.

Rookie wide receiver Rashee Rice allegedly hit a photographer outside a Dallas nightclub, though he won't face charges.

He is also facing both criminal and civil trouble for a road racing incident in Dallas that led to a crash involving half-a-dozen vehicles back in March.

Additionally, Wanya Morris and Chukwuebuka Godrick were arrested in Kansas for misdemeanor marijuana possession.

Both players were arrested and released after posting bond. They could face a fine of $2,500 and possibly a year in jail.

Controversy has also surrounded the Chiefs' star kicker Harrison Butker over a commencement speech he gave at Benedictine College in Kansas.

Butker congratulated the women receiving degrees and said most of them were probably more excited about getting married and having children than starting a career.

Butker, whose own mother is an accomplished physicist, also criticized Pride month and President Joe Biden's stance on abortion.

The controversial speech has attracted fierce backlash and, a day after his address, a petition was set up to have the Chiefs kicker removed from the team's roster ahead of the 2024 NFL season.
