The 2024 UFL Championship Game between the Birmingham Stallions and the San Antonio Brahmas will be played on June 16, 2024. As both teams prepare for their biggest game of the season, they must also prepare to lose several players to the NFL in 2024.
Several players around the UFL have already received interest from NFL teams, receiving invites and tryouts to mandatory minicamp. Which players on the Stallions and Brahmas could potentially sign with an NFL team in 2024?
Birmingham Stallions Who Could Join NFL After 2024 UFL Championship
The Stallions are led by head coach Skip Holtz, son of legendary head coach and television analyst Lou Holtz. Skip is making the most of his first opportunity as a head coach at the professional level. Since joining the team as both head coach and general manager in 2022, he has led the Stallions to an impressive overall record of 26-4.
Stallions quarterback Adrian Martinez actually led the entire UFL in rushing this season. Martinez totaled an impressive 528 rushing yards on just 54 rushing attempts while adding 1,749 passing yards, 15 passing touchdowns, and just three interceptions.
Stallions defensive tackle Carlos Davis, meanwhile, spent time with both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Atlanta Falcons before joining the Stallions. After finishing second this season in sacks (7), Davis proved that he’s worth giving another shot at the next level.
Birmingham safety A.J. Thomas spent two seasons with the Chicago Bears before joining the Stallions in 2024. At 6’2″, 214 pounds, Thomas offers great size at the safety position and also showcased his ball-hawking ability, as he was tied for the UFL lead with three interceptions.
San Antonio Brahmas Who Could Join NFL After 2024 UFL Championship
Led by head coach Wade Phillips, San Antonio certainly has an advantage when it comes to coaching experience. Despite being 76 years old, Phillips is still coaching at a high level and using his experience from the NFL that dates all the way back to 1976 with the Houston Oilers.
Phillips is certainly beloved by his players in San Antonio, as evidenced by the Gatorade shower he received once the Brahmas clinched their trip to the 2024 UFL Championship.
Brahmas running back John Lovett finished fourth in the UFL in rushing yards, despite playing just eight games this season. Lovett spent time with the Steelers in 2023, but he didn’t make the team’s final roster. His strong performance in San Antonio this season should earn him another opportunity in the NFL in 2024.

San Antonio LB Tavante Beckett finished third in total tackles in the UFL this season. The 26-year-old linebacker has showcased his playmaking ability that earned him an opportunity with the Detroit Lions in 2021. Beckett also had nine tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, and 1.5 sacks in San Antonio.
Brahmas wide receiver Jontre Kirklin was a reliable weapon in the passing game all season long for San Antonio. He finished second in the UFL with 614 total receiving yards and tied for the league lead with 56 receptions. Kirklin has received NFL opportunities in each of the last two offseasons and has certainly earned another chance in 2024.
