Snezana Wood discusses her new memoir Untold
We fell in love with her on the bachelor as one of the franchisers biggest success stories single mums designers saw the heart of Sam Wood and indeed the nation. Now nine years later, their family of three has grown into a family of 6. They're the sweetest and has joins us now to share her truth in her new memoir. It's called untold. Good morning, good morning. Lovely to be here. I mean, we saw a lot of your, well, one moment, I suppose, of your life play out on reality TV and meeting your match. So what else is there to tell? Why did you want to write a book? Because I think that that's that was one moment in my life. It was only like the tip of the iceberg. I think my life has, you know, had many obstacles. And there's so much more to it than the few minutes that I had on the show. Yeah. So I thought it was important to be, you know, for people to see my authentic self and see who I really AM and how I got to where I am and why I am the person I am. And we were a mother of four as well. So tell us the story about how Harper was born. Your third child, Harper. That was a bit of a plot twist. All my pregnancies have been, you know, they've all been a bit of a struggle. I'm not the best when it comes to being pregnant. I always feel quite sick. But there she is with little Harper at the very end there. There was, yeah, a bit of a scare for both Harper and myself. And I really go into that, into the book and talk about how that was and how that took a toll on myself and our family and everything. Yeah. Very stressful. It really makes you just, you know, think, you know, they're so precious. They're so small and there's only so much you can do, like as a mother, just, you know, standing there on the outside watching your little one be, you know, not feel well and everything. It was really hard. Oh, it's distressing. And yeah, more of that. Well, yeah, a lot of people who've who've been through similar experiences, if you take us back to your time on the Bachelor, you were a single mum at the time. You were working full time, studying. You had so much on your plate. What made you want to, you know, it's, it's a very vulnerable thing to put yourself out there on a show like this. What made you want to take that way? It wasn't, it wasn't so much myself, my daughter Evie. Evie was the one who actually pushed me to do it. That was something that I would never have thought to do on my own. It's completely out of my comfort zone. I'm a bit of an introvert, so that was really scary for me. But it was something that she really wanted me to do. And I thought, you know what? I'm just going to bite the bullet and do it because, you know, when else am I gonna have this opportunity to see what's on the other side of TV and what, what happens in these shows and everything. So that's what it really was. And if you really wanted me to find somebody and I thought, you know what? Just have a crack. Have a crack. You got stuck with Sam. Yeah. Now it'll be worse. People. You opened up with me about an ADHD diagnosis, too, and how that's affected you and helped helped you. Tell us about that. Yeah, that was, you know, I always knew that, you know, I found certain things a bit difficult, but, you know, knowing now why I find things difficult or why I find some things a lot easier and it's helped me understand how I work and it helps me put myself in a position where I can focus a bit better. And it just taught me how I, you know, find things easy and, and how to function with those things. Yeah. It's really hard. It's really. Yeah. I found it a real struggle. But it's also made me think, you know, well, there's so many people out there that are like myself and, you know, we all don't think inside the box. You know, we've danced with a bit of our own, you know, beats and everything. And I just come to accept that. And, you know, I find things easy that some people find hard and vice versa. And, and I just think it's, you know, sometimes it's an amazing thing to be able to, you know, possess. Really. It is. It's a superpower. And it's validating when it makes me get. Yeah, it it allows me to get a lot of things done in a short amount of time. You're grabbing important when you are a mother of four and the wife to Sam. You two are both running this hugely successful well-being project now as well. How do you separate work from parenting and pleasure and a bit of downtime? I mean, you guys must be joined at the hip. No, thank God. Yeah. It's it's I think it's all, it's a bit of a juggling act and it's about prioritizing what's important in that moment. It is great working with Sam and doing things together that we absolutely love, bringing health and Wellness together. So it is great, great fun, but we never really switch off, I guess. But but he's messy. You told us just then he's messy around the house. Messy. I'm shocked by that. No, I thought most trainers were like neat OCD, everything in his right place. No, no, no, he is absolutely atrocious when he comes to, you know, putting his things away. No, no. Well, I'm sure he has our throughout the house. You can't have everything. No, I have everything. Can't have it all. Shanice, Congrats on the book and thanks for coming in today. It's great to see you.
