Met Office Sunday Afternoon Weather Forecast 16/06/2024
Hello there. Well, can we expect to see some dry weather this afternoon? Yes, for some, but not for everyone. We do currently have an area of rain which is pushing its way into Scotland, parts of northern England and later on into parts of Northern Ireland. This could be a little bit heavy at times. Generally elsewhere, an afternoon of sunny spells and showers, most of the showers in the east across parts of Lincolnshire and East Anglia. And where you do catch the sunshine, it will be feeling pleasant and warmer, particularly in the southeast. We're expecting highs of 21, maybe even 22 Celsius. But elsewhere, under cloudier skies, that is where the temperatures are going to struggle this afternoon. Through into the evening, then we'll continue to see that band of rain sink its way into parts of northern England, generally clearing across Scotland and across central areas and southern areas of the UK. That's where it's going to be dry, clear and feeling a little bit cooler too compared to recent nights. But in the north, where we see that cloud stick around, that's where those temperatures are going to remain mild. To start on Monday, then plenty of sunshine in the South for much of the day, but elsewhere we're going to see another day of those sunny spells and showers. Quite a changeable day. One minute will be sunny. In the next minute you may catch a heavy downpour, perhaps even thundery at times too. But once again, across the South and southeast where you catch the sunshine, that's where we're going to see those highest temperatures, highs of 22, maybe even 23 Celsius. Now, if you're on the hunt for some drier, what I can tell you is we are expecting some further heavy showers on Tuesday, but from midweek onwards. See plenty of drier and sunnier weather, but the temperatures are remaining around average, which means nothing particularly warm.
