Texas QB Quinn Ewers gets honest about Ryan Day, Ohio State
Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers recently joined Robert Griffin III's podcast, "RG3 and The Ones," to reflect on his collegiate career and what has helped him become one of the nation's top players ahead of the 2024 season.
Ewers originally committed to Texas under Tom Herman but had a change of heart and ended up leaving high school early to enroll at Ohio State. The Southlake Carroll product spent a redshirt season with the Buckeyes prior to transferring to Texas to play for head coach Steve Sarkisian.

His experience at Ohio State under Ryan Day was a topic Ewers and Griffin reflected on during the episode. "I mean, I learned a whole lot through coach Day," Ewers said. "We had some good quarterbacks in that room. ... And, you know, I learned a lot from CJ (Stroud) and how to prepare for games and whatnot, and it was just, it was a good experience, but at the end of the day, just wasn't the right fit for me."
The Longhorns certainly welcomed Ewers with open arms, who has significantly improved each season as the starter. Texas' signal caller is now one of the top Heisman contenders in 2024 and will strive to lead the Longhorns to a national title prior to entering the 2025 NFL draft.
