Feeney pilots 'rocket ship' to pole position in Darwin

Race-one winner Broc Feeney continues to enjoy a productive weekend at the Darwin Supercars.

Broc Feeney has gone full-throttle to outpace Will Brown and Brodie Kostecki and claim pole position in the final race of the Darwin Supercars.

Backing up his victory in the opening race of the weekend, the Triple Eight young gun set the pace early as the third driver to have a solo crack during Sunday's top-10 shootout at Hidden Valley Raceway.

None of the seven drivers after Feeney were able to beat his lap time of one minute 5.921 seconds.

Reigning champion Kostecki will share the front row after falling short by 0.137 seconds.

Feeney's Triple Eight teammate and current championship leader Brown came third fastest after claiming provisional pole earlier on Sunday.

It is Feeney's third pole position of the year. He last started at the front of the grid for the first Melbourne SuperSprint race in March.

"I thought it was going to be pretty hard to beat. The car was a rocket ship," Feeney said.

"To be on pole today is awesome. We've got a pretty good racecar so we'll put it to use."

Saturday's pole-sitter James Golding will start Sunday's race in fourth, while Jack Le Brocq and Cam Hill share the third row in fifth and sixth respectively.

Golding was primed to claim a maiden win in the opening race before he lost the lead early to Feeney following contact.

"I'm just lapping it up this weekend," the PremiAir Nulon Racing driver said.

"It's an awesome confidence boost for me and the team. We know we can run up at the front now."

Wildcard rookie Cooper Murray put together a lap of one minute 6.849 seconds to place 10th in his first Supercars shootout.
