peter andre pulled over for drink-driving after cops mistook coffee for pint of guinness

Peter Andre spoke about his own unusual drink-driving experience

Justin Timberlake's recent arrest for allegedly driving while intoxicated in the Hamptons has sent shockwaves through the celebrity world, and now Peter Andre is sharing his own brush with a similar situation. The 51 year old singer was mistakenly thought to be under the influence, but it was all a big mix-up involving a pint that wasn't what it seemed.

Peter opened up to OK! magazine about the incident, saying: "It has been reported that Justin Timberlake was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Understandably, he's facing a lot of scrutiny. Although I have never driven under the influence, it got me thinking about a time I was pulled over."

He recounted his own experience: "I was driving in Ipswich to visit my brother and I got stopped by the police because they thought I had a pint of Guinness next to me. Unknown to them, it was just an iced black coffee with froth on top and it looked very much like a Guinness."

"The policeman said to me, 'Sir, when was the last time you had a drink? ' And I think he expected me to say 'last night' or 'this morning' but my answer was, 'Around nine or 10 years ago.' We both started laughing. I still had to take a breathalyser, though which was obviously negative, but then he said to me, 'Look, just a bit of advice, don't put your coffee in a pint glass and drive around with it.' Lesson learnt.", reports OK!.

Justin, the singer of Cry Me A River, was arrested in the affluent village of Sag Harbor, New York, in the early hours of last Monday, as confirmed by the Sag Harbor Village Police Department to the PA news agency.

A spokesperson verified that the 43 year old star was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated (DWI). TMZ also reported that Justin had met with friends at a hotel and around 12.30am, he allegedly got back into his car to return to his accommodation.

It's alleged that he was stopped by police during his drive.

Justin is scheduled to perform two gigs in Chicago this week before heading to Madison Square Garden in New York for two more shows next week. He has been touring various US cities on his Forget Tomorrow World Tour.
