Coach Brian Daboll Making Change with Giants? Bills Tracker
JUNE 15 DABOLL IN CHARGE? It makes perfect sense: A team is seemingly on the verge of being in trouble as it preps for the season. The head coach may be going down with the ship ...
So he might as well call his own plays.
Therefore, it’s no surprise the New York Giants have at least considered making a switch on the headset this offseason. Coordinator Mike Kafka called plays for last year’s offense, but head coach Brian Daboll - the former Buffalo coordinator who called plays for Josh Allen - seems ready to take the controls back.

And what does Kafka think about the potential change?
“I’ll kind of lean back on my experience in Kansas City a little bit where Coach Reid is the primary play-caller, and the coordinators that were under him – whether it be Eric Bieniemy, Matt Nagy – those guys are super involved,” Kafka told reporters on Wednesday. “So I have that experience of being in a system like that. It’s pretty typical around the league, coaches doing that.
“So whatever decision Dabes wants to go with, I fully support.”
Kafka, of course, has very little choice here. And maybe Daboll has very little choice as well.
