Pollster shares his top vice presidential picks for Trump

Welcome back to the special edition of Hannity. Today is former President Donald Trump's birthday, and Joe Biden marked the occasion with a snarky tweet about age. Quote, take it from 1 old guy to another, age is just a number. This election, however, is a choice. Biden's attack comes amid a new push by his campaign to target seniors. And that's because young people are abandoning Joe in droves. The efforts getting a little ridiculous though. In fact, here's what Jill Biden said about Joe's age. Joe Biden is a healthy, wise 81 year old ready and willing to work for you every day. You see, Joe isn't one of the most effective presidents of our lives in spite of his age, but because of it. Does anyone believe that? I mean, other than the First Lady? I don't. You probably don't either. America doesn't. But while Biden appeals to yesterday, Trump has all the energy of the future. He's driving a ton of buzz with his impending VP announcement, telling Fox News that he has a quote, pretty good idea who is going to pick and that it will probably be one of the Republican members of Congress he met with yesterday in Washington, DC. One of whom you just heard from Senator Tim Tim Scott. Here's reaction are Harris poll chairman Mark Penn and former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee. Welcome to you both. You know, Mark, I want to start with you because one of my favorite questions to ask Democrats is who they fear most as the vice presidential pick. So let's start there. Well, look, I think in this case Trump has a couple of good picks. I think Tim Scott is a good pick. I think Marco Rubio is a good pick. I think that Democrats fear less like AJD Vance, someone who's, you know, seen as as adding to a much more conservative outlook, although I think Tim Scott's pretty conservative. So I think those two are pretty good picks. You know, and I think some of the others on the list probably would hurt Trump rather than help him, you know, Governor Huckabee. Among the people in the room where Tim Scott, Tom Cotton, Byron Donald was in the House meeting, so, too, was Elise Stefanik. There are some others, but I would love to see at the convention. Donald Trump is so creative and I'll never forget being on ACNN set. I was like the lone conservative out in right field on CNN and watching Trump come up in the 2016 convention with this silhouette and he walked on stage. I would love to see this VP pick like this silhouette. Some creative energy as we all guess. I think it's brilliant on his part. The timing of this, doing it at the convention in a fun way. Your thoughts? Well, it's going to bring some drama to the convention, put some eyeballs watching it that might not have otherwise done so. And it gives him more time. I don't think it's going to make a huge difference because people are going to vote for Donald Trump. I think it can help him with certain constituencies. Maybe that's what he's going to be looking for, is someone who brings some people to the ticket in terms of demographics. But ultimately, look, everybody understands Donald Trump had four years as president. Our economy was better, the prices of things such as groceries and gas, it was better. The border was under control. We weren't in a bunch of shooting wars across the world. People just look at the record and they'll say, whoever he picks, I'm still voting for him because it's his policies that they're voting for. And that's what I think we're going to see on November the 5th. You know, Mark, we heard a name yesterday that we had not previously heard among the VP contenders. Let's watch. Do you like him for VP? He's great. And yeah, I I think I could consider that. Yes. Are you? I haven't, I haven't been asked that question, But he would be on that list. Yeah, he's very good. We had a great meeting about Virginia. So he's speaking about Governor Glenn Younkin and your pollster. I want to pull up. These are the RealClearPolitics averages in swing states. You can see Trump prevailing in all. But you see where it's. Titus is in the Rust Belt. And Biden. All he's got to do to win is win that Rust Belt unless let's pull up our Fox News poll of Virginia tie. If you pick someone like Glenn Youngkin, you're picking someone immensely popular in Virginia and you're forcing by Biden to not just compete in the Rust Belt, but in Virginia. What do you think of that? Well, look, I, I, I think that given that we've seen polls recently with Virginia Tide, then the young can pick suddenly comes into play as someone who also would be quite attractive to look. The Nikki Haley vote is really what's up for grabs. Who do Democrats really fear? Nikki Haley is vice president, but of course she's not going to be it. Youngkin could be a surrogate in a lot of ways for that kind of vote and probably also be a good pick, though he failed to get the Republican legislature that he said he would get. Yeah, that's a good point. You know, Governor, one of the interesting trend lines the liberal media is looking for, like, any silver lining here. And the silver lining they're finding is while younger voters are turning towards Trump, older voters are trending towards Biden. In fact, they call it. They say it appears that he's making serious inroads, could become the first Democrat to win this demographic in over two decades. What do you think's going on there with the senior vote? I, I think that if that's the case, Donald Trump is, you know, somehow I, I don't know, the only thing I can figure is maybe Joe Biden has made a lot of senior voters feel at home with him because they're forgetting all their stuff too, and can't find their way out of the grocery store. Look, when we're watching this stuff and you hear Jill Biden say, oh, he's the best he's ever been, I'm thinking this guy calls the lid on his schedule every day at 2:00. And and you just want to whisper in an ear, Jill, we all see him. You do know that we can watch him on TV and watch what he does and listen to what he says. So you can tell us that he's the most effective we've ever had, but we ain't seeing it. And I just, I just can't trust those numbers that seniors are looking at Joe Biden and saying, Yep, he's good for another 4. Yeah, one. You know, quick question. We only have a few seconds, Mark, but could we see an electoral map that is just totally different than anything we could have ever expected, where Minnesota goes one way, Nevada another way, just an unconventional map. Virginia may be in play and states going in untraditional directions. Or do you think something's wrong with the polling? Look, let me say I agree with the governor. I don't see this with seniors. I see a big male, female split with men going to Trump, women sticking with Biden. That's the real battleground. And you're absolutely right. You know, change does happen in the electorate. This can be a change election here, even though this is it's a rematch. There's going to be change here. And I think the map is a lot wider than it appears. A lot of change come in just a few months.
