Former Pakistan pacer Wasim Akram said that the Pakistan team should now fly out to Dubai and then back to Pakistan, after a disappointing outing at the T20 World Cup. They were eliminated from the group stage after consecutive losses to USA and India, and after US' match against Ireland was washed out, throwing Pakistan out of the tournament.
Akram congratulated the USA side for making it to the next stage of the marquee tournament as they have sealed their berth for the T20 World Cup 2026 as well. Pakistan went down to India in New York on Sunday in a close match, failing to chase a target of 120.
Akram said that Pakistan's next plan should be to board a flight back home. "Yeah, absolutely. And congratulations to Team USA. They've done amazingly well when you talk about globalisation of the game. This is it USA qualifying for Super Eights," Akram said while speaking to ICC.

USA's qualification did shatter Pakistan's hopes but they just have themselves to blame after losing their first two fixtures against the Americans and arch-rivals India in New York.
