Tornado watch issued as strong storms move through New Brunswick
Environment Canada has issued a tornado watch for northern New Brunswick. This includes the regions of Mount Carlton, rather Redness Hwy. Grand Falls and Victoria counties. If you are of these areas, the conditions are favorable for the development of a tornado. So have a plan, stay alert and keep your phones with you because this could potentially turn into a tornado warning depending on the radar and the signature we are seeing. This is the cell that we're tracking currently right now. That looks like it may have a signature of some rotation. Environment Canada is also watching this very closely, but more of a widespread look here. What we're tracking into the next couple of hours. These cells are moving across international border into many areas of New Brunswick, Fredericton. You could be looking at a little bit of some Thunder, some heavy rainfall moving in as we head into the next couple of hours, into the evening hours. As this threat continues, watches and warnings continue to expand across eastern portions of the province. Now the difference between a tornado watch and a warning. June A warning is when a tornado has been reported on the ground or when there is evidence on radar indicating that there is rotation within the storm. Edmonton down towards Fredericton areas in yellow have the chance to see non severe storms in nature that potentially may continue into your overnight hours.
