Britain's Got Talent 'set to be extended to air over THREE MONTHS in huge series shake-up as bosses land a £100million deal'

Britain's Got Talent bosses are reportedly set to sign a huge £100 million deal that could see the ITV show spread over three months.

In a bid to overtake their BBC rival Strictly Come Dancing, producers are reportedly hoping to fill the space left by Saturday Night Takeaway, by airing a future series from February through to May.

For many years BGT has aired for seven weeks, before the live semi-finals are spread over five nights in a single week.

The show, produced by Thames, is reaching the end of its five-year contract in 2025, and following the huge online success of clips from the show, its expected to land another three or five-year contract with ITV.

According to overnight and seven-day figures, the current series of BGT - with Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli as judges - rakes in seven million views on average, down from a peak 13million in 2009.

However the show's online reach is far wider, with 24billion total views of clips, and one audition alone receiving over 300 million views.

A source told The Sun: 'Stretching BGT over three months could make it more of a presence.

'Online is where advertisers are now pumping in their money, but to get the clips they need the show.

'So BGT's creators have the upper hand as they strike a new deal.'

BGT's YouTube channel has 20million subscribers, with its most viewed clip being Calum Scott's 2015 audition with a version of Dancing On My Own, which has 390 million views.

Strictly's YouTube channel has 772,000 subscribers, with its most-watched video being a performance by the professional dancers to Cotton Eye Joe, receiving nine million views.

So far, the latest series of BGT has been viewed 660 million times across Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, TikTok and YouTube.

Sydnie Christmas's audition, which featured in episode one last month, has been viewed 54million times in six weeks.

A three-month BGT would feature six Saturdays of audition episodes, following six Saturdays of semi-finals, before a live final, with bosses even considering the addition of Sunday results, akin to The X Factor years earlier.

Currently the show airs all of its semi-finals and final in the same week, with this year's series set to conclude on June 2.

ITV and Thames did not comment when contacted by The Sun. MailOnline has contacted a representative for Britain's Got Talent for further comment.

Last week, BGT was plunged into another fix row as some viewers slammed Saturday night's show.

Magicians Jay and Joss took to the stage to wow the crowd with their wedding themed routine where they visited the future.

The magic trick, involved all the judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli and left them all shocked.

The duo began their audition with a montage of how they met, which moved into a heartfelt moment from their engagement in 2019 and finished with their wedding which took place last year.

One video the couple didn't show was of their honeymoon, explaining that they hadn't taken it yet.

Jay and Joss then asked the panel of judges for their help, which involved a black balloon.

Each judge had to hold the balloon and give a date, month and year their honeymoon would take place.

Simon, 64, picked the seventh, Amanda, 53, picked the month August and Alesha, 45, chose 2025.

Bruno, 68, was then asked to shake the balloon, where Joss popped it and a note came out saying 07/08/2025.

Alesha was then asked to guess how much money the couple would spend to which she replied a very exact £7,700.50.

Amanda picked a hotel room number 127 and Simon was asked to pick a showbiz friend that would join them, to which he said Nicole Scherzinger.

Simon was also asked to choose a destination from a group of tags that would determine where the pair could go on their honeymoon, of which he picked Blackpool.Jay and Joss then told the audience how the judges' choices were 'completely random' and they could not have known anything about it before the audition.

However, the duo then suggested that they could move forward in time in just the blink of an eye to the exact date, year and location.

They both clicked their hands and a video appeared playing their future honeymoon.

However the show's online reach is far wider than its general viewership, with 24billion total views of clips, and one audition alone receiving over 300 million views

The camera focused onto the front of a newspaper which read the date 7 August 2025. They then produced a piece of paper with the amount £7,700.50 written on it and finally spoke about a room number with 127 appearing at the top of their coffee.

The couple then headed outside which showed they were in Blackpool and as a bus drove past transport, the words 'Nicole Scherzinger' were emblazoned on the side.

As the judges were left confused as to how the duo had pulled the trick off, head judge Simon insisted: 'I swear none of it was planned in advance, it's just blown my mind!'

Unimpressed, viewers raced to X to share their thoughts:

'Good act but there is no way that can be possible without the judges being in on it'

'Look at the judges pretending they haven't told to say those things #BGT.'

This is not the first time this year's show has been plagued by a fix row. At the beginning of the month enraged fans called out professional singer Taryn Charles.

The special education teacher was branded the show's 'best ever' Golden Buzzer act after Bruno Tonioli sent her through to the semi-finals following her incredible performance.
