Through The Years: Bryce Dallas Howard
The stunning Bryce Dallas Howard was pretty much born famous. The daughter of actor turned director Ron Howard, the starlet got into showbiz from a young age, but who would have guessed that the cute little tomboy from these throwback photos would grow up to become one of Hollywood's most glamorous stars? Bryce's big break was in 2004 when she starred in the thriller The Village. That same year, she won numerous prizes as a rising star and attended the annual Hollywood Life Breakthrough Awards with a shorter hairdo than nowadays and wearing a cute strapless black dress. In 2009, for the premiere of Terminator Salvation in Paris, she went for a classic look in a tiered nude halter dress and a pop of red at the lips. Fast forward to the HD era and we find the actress at the premiere of Jurassic World in 2015. Bryce made sure all eyes were on her that evening as she appeared in a daring blue backless dress from Emilio Pucci with a keyhole detail on the front. With her fiery red hair parted and swept back into a ponytail, Howard looked every inch a leading lady as she turned up to the Hollywood event. A year later, she posed in front of the cameras with her dad at the UK premiere of Pete's Dragon, wearing a stunning blue lace dress from Miami based brand Alexis. Then she jetted off to Hollywood where she promoted the film again in gorgeous green leopard print. Givenchie. Although she occasionally opts for a little color, ever since she first set foot on a red carpet, we've noticed Bryce seems to love wearing all black. She tried out a variation of the classic LBD at the AFI tribute to John Williams, hit the Hollywood Film Awards in a figure hugging design from Mugler, and dialed up the sexy at the Bafta's thanks to a plunging neckline. Though she might be a big star nowadays, the actress is really down to earth. She has no stylist and buys her own dresses for big events, like this beautiful blue Jenny Packham gown from the Golden Globes, a brightly colored Topshop look at the Critics Choice Awards, or a sparkling cranberry number from LA label Dress the Population for the SAG Awards. All three of the outfits were later auctioned off for charity. But while she may pick out her own clothes, Bryce isn't ashamed to admit that she does need a little help from her glam squad when getting ready for a big premiere. I prepare for it by by getting the chance to work with professionals who paint my face and fix my hair and it's, you know, it's playing dress up. I would never be able to do it on my own. Well, the results look pretty great, as shown here at the world premiere of 2018's Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom, where the actress was feeling the flamenco vibes of this ruffled Johanna Ortiz design. At the end of 2018, Bryce stepped out to support her dad as he received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Keeping things casual for the occasion, the actress selected a black turtleneck dress and threw a couple her trench coat on top perfectly complementing her hair color. The following year, the star rocked multiple red carpets for the promo tour of the Elton John biopic Rocket Man, kicking things off at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, where she wowed in a sensational black and red pattern dress. Then there was a silky blue look for the New York premiere, and in London, she opted for a chic black gown with lace neckline and sleeves, topped off with a hot pink lip and a pair of statement earrings. Another big project she was part of that year was The Mandalorian. She's a director, not an actress on the show, but she wowed at the series world premiere in a mixed animal print dress complemented by a wide blue leather belt. And in 2020, Bryce once again proved she's a real fashionista, turning heads at the Oscars. Vanity Fair after party in this stunning Ellie Saab creation with pleated skirt and Lacy sleeves. Whether she sports all black or bright colors, hope Couture or off the rack, Bryce Dallas Howard always brings a touch of glamour to the red carpet.
