Houston mayor, SBA to discuss federal aid, storm recovery efforts

The news conference is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. KHOU 11 will stream it to this article, as well as the KHOU 11 mobile app, YouTube and Facebook pages.
According to the city, the mayor and SBA "will provide insights into the resources and aid to assist the affected communities."
On X, the Harris County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management said the SBA will be opening two business recovery centers for residents who need help. Here's when and where they'll be open:
- University of Houston - Downtown, Maryland Davies College of Business
- 320 North Main Street
- Room B106 (first floor)
- Open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. 6 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Trini Mendenhall Community Center
- 1414 Wirt Road
- First opens on Thursday, May 23 at 1 p.m.
- Open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The mayor is also expected to give an update on recovery efforts.
