Tuchel holding “loose talks” with Chelsea, United (Sky Sport via 90Min.com)

Outgoing Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel has already cleared out his office and is — allegedly — already hard at work trying to secure his next gig.

Per one report, Tuchel has already held “loose talks” with both Chelsea FC and Manchester United:

Manchester United and Chelsea have both held ‘loose talks’ with outgoing Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel, who will take a break from management if he can’t secure a return to the Premier League.

“Loose talks”, eh? Sounds like what my college buddy used to say when he had with a “10” at the bar around 10PM before letting me know at 2AM that negotiations had fallen through.

Something tells me that Tuchel’s talks were probably a little more serious than “loose” as time is of the essence.

BVB eyeing Guirassy move (Get German Football News)

Borussia Dortmund could be eyeing a move for VfB Stuttgart attacker Serhou Guirassy:

With 28 Bundesliga goals this season, only Harry Kane (36) scored more than Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy this season. But the Guinean, who helped VfB qualify for Champions League football for the first time since 2010, is yet to commit his future to the Swabian club.

According to kicker, Guirassy is yet to make a clear commitment to those in charge at Stuttgart, with Borussia Dortmund showing an interest in the 28-year-old forward.

Sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth and head coach Sebastian Hoeneß will no doubt want to keep Guirassy – who has a contract until 2026 – beyond the summer, but that will certainly prove difficult. Averaging a goal every 79 minutes in the Bundesliga – matching Kane, who played more minutes – Guirassy can leave for a fee lower than €20m, his reported exit clause.

That will ultimately mean that it would be difficult for Stuttgart to keep hold of Guirassy, who has interest from some of Europe’s top clubs. Per kicker, Milan and several English clubs have shown interest in the past.

A Champions League finalist, Borussia Dortmund are already planning for next season. Sven Mislintat has re-joined the club as technical director, and is already working on the squad for the 2024/25 campaign. Mislintat, who was involved in bringing Guirassy to Stuttgart on loan, maintains contact with the player and his representatives, according to kicker.

Bavarian Podcast Works — Flagship Show: Season 6, Episode 45 (Bavarian Football Works)

In about a week, Bayern Munich have become the laughing stock of the football world. Going all-in on trying to keep Thomas Tuchel for another year only to be rejected, and then finishing third in the Bundesliga after a devastating defeat to Hoffenheim — it’s the lowest point this club has seen in well over a decade.

Since Tuchel is now gone, it’s time to start blaming the people actually responsible for this circus. The board needs to answer for what is happening at this club.

In this episode, INNN and Samrin discuss the following:

  • This is how the banter era starts.
  • Tangent: Is Manuel Neuer finished? Probably not.
  • How a lack of leadership at the top level has led to this current situation.
  • Why people should have seen this coming.
  • How this current coaching circus makes it even harder to find a new coach.
  • What trying to keep Thomas Tuchel at the last minute says about the board.
  • Why doesn’t Bayern Munich want to bring back Hansi Flick?
  • Discussing the pros and cons of a potential Flick return.
  • Some other final candidates, like Erik ten Hag (ew), Allegri (eww), and Mourinho (ewww).

Ortega eyeing No. 1 role (@Plettigoal)

Manchester City’s Stefan Ortega might be looking for a new club — and a chance to be a No. 1 option at goalkeeper:

News #Ortega | The 31 y/o would like to stay at ManCity, but the talks about a contract extension until 2026 are still significantly stalled!

➡️ There is still no agreement, especially on financial aspects

➡️ For Ortega, it is clear that he wants to be the No. 1 in the future, either at #MCFC or at another club.

If an extension is not reached in the next few weeks, a move in the summer is planned.

Gosens to Lazio? (@Plettigoal)

There were not a lot of bright moments for Union Berlin this season, but Robin Gosens turned in a solid campaign anyway. Because of that, Lazio might be thinking of bringing him back to Italy:

News #Gosens | Lazio Rom is very interested in Gosens. Several clubs have inquired. Rumors about AS Roma are not true.

➡️ A move in the summer is possible. However, there are no agreements with any club yet. First, there will be talks with Union Berlin.

Gosens was recently fully focused on Union Berlin. He wanted to do everything for their survival in the league. He achieved that. 6 goals and 4 assists in his first Bundesliga season for Union.

Bavarian Podcast Works: Postgame Show — Hoffenheim 4-2 Bayern Munich (Bavarian Football Works)

Bayern Munich closed out its season with a disappointing 4-2 loss in Sinsheim to a very solid Hoffenheim squad.

While the game started out great for Bayern Munich, the Bavarians eventually lost some steam and were overtaken by the home side. It was a sad ending to a hapless (and trophyless) season. Let’s get down to it and see what we have on tap for this episode of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Postgame Show:

  • A look at the starting lineup and why it was weird (and probably unnecessary, too).
  • How the game played, including the feeling we all had when Bayern Munich blazed its way out to a 2-0 lead in the first six minutes of the match.
  • The sinking feeling of watching the team lose its steam in the second half.
  • Some thoughts on why it was just time for Thomas Tuchel to leave.
  • Addressing the uncertainty of what’s next.

Madrid eyeing Alexander-Arnold? (Fabrizio Romano via 90Min.com)

Real Madrid could be toying with a move for Liverpool FC’s Trent Alexander-Arnold:

Real Madrid will try to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold next summer if he does not renew his Liverpool contract. The England international’s current deal expires in 2025.

Šeško to decide next move before EUROs (@FabrizioRomano)

RB Leipzig star Benjamin Šeško is aiming to sort out his future before the EUROs kick off:

Bavarian Podcast Works: Weekend Warm-up Show Season 3, Episode 45 (Bavarian Football Works)

Bayern Munich’s season is over.

With one game left of the season at the time that this podcast has dropped, fans are peering toward the summer transfer window and wondering how different this roster might look by September.

We’ve got thought on that and a whole lot more, so let’s get to it and see what we have in tap for this episode of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Weekend Warm-up Show:

  • Wait, Thomas Tuchel is coming back? It sure looks like it.
  • The veto power “rule” at Bayern Munich is wreaking havoc.
  • What players could exit if Tuchel comes back.
  • Why in the world did the DFB opt to release its roster in such a haphazard manner?
  • Speaking of the German national team roster, let’s talk about that roster drop. Did Julian Nagelsmann get it right?
