LeBron James Issues Direct Five-Word Message to WNBA Rookie Caitlin Clark
Caitlin Clark's impact on the WNBA has, believe it or not, been met with heavy scrutiny. WNBA veterans, like Diana Taurasi, have expressed bitter opinions about the former Iowa Hawkeye. But it appears NBA stars, like LeBron James, have an entirely different perspective about the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft.
James can relate to Clark. No player in NBA history has faced more pressure to perform at a high level early on in his career than the former Cleveland Cavaliers forward. Clark faces a similar pressure. The NCAA's all-time leading scorer is easily the most popular player in the league's history.
During James' recent podcast episode of "Mind the Game" with JJ Redick, the Lakers forward discussed Clark's impact on the WNBA. While doing so, he issued a direct five-word message to Clark to express his support for the Indiana Fever rookie.
"I’m rooting for Caitlin [Clark]," James told Redick during the episode.

James adds that Clark's the sole reason for the sport's rise in popularity. The WNBA is attracting an unprecedented amount of attention since Clark entered the league.
“The one thing that I love that she’s bringing to her sport, more people want to watch. More people want to tune in. Don’t get it twisted, don’t get it f*cked up. Caitlin Clark is the reason why a lot of great things is happening for the WNBA,” James continued.
It's nice to see LeBron James supporting Caitlin Clark. She's in a tough situation. If anyone understands the situation she's in, it's James.
Clark and the Fever will try and win their first game of the season tonight vs. the Seattle Storm.
