A man has died and another is assisting police with their inquiries following a confrontation inside an apartment.
Paramedics on Wednesday rushed to the unit on Richmond Avenue in Auburn, Sydney's west, about 7.30pm, but were unable to save the critically injured man.
'NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a man, but he died at the scene.' NSW Police said in a statement.

'Officers from Auburn Police Area Command arrested a 32-year-old man a short time later on South Parade, Auburn.'
'He has been taken to Auburn Police Station and is currently assisting with inquiries.'
A crime scene has been set up and police are investigating the incident.
