Justin Timberlake makes driving joke on stage during American tour following DWI charge

Pop star Justin Timberlake has made light of his recent DWI charges by cracking an unexpected joke about driving while on stage at his Boston show on Sunday.

The multihyphenate performer — who was arrested on June 17 in New York’s Hamptons and subsequently charged with driving while intoxicated — has not let his indiscretion affect his world tour plans.

Timberlake initially addressed the infamous events that saw his mug shot plastered across social media with a candid monologue to fans at a Chicago show days after his arrest.

“It’s been a tough week. But you’re here, and I’m here. And nothing can change this moment right now. I know sometimes I’m hard to love. But you keep on loving me, and I’ll love you right back,” the 43-year-old told fans.

Two weeks post-incident, the performer has taken a more tongue-in-cheek approach to cope with the fallout.

Shared to TikTok, a crowd member captured the moment the Sexyback singer flipped the script.

Framed by his back up singers, Timberlake appeared ready to introduce his next song before uttering a playful dig that left fans in hysterics.

“So uh ... is there anyone here tonight that is driving?” he joked.

No ... I’m just kidding.”

Caught off guard, his audience audibly gasped before laughing off the wisecrack, which appeared to surprise even his supporting cast.

“He is a total savage 😂,” the video was captioned.

However, JT’s apparent lack of remorse for drunk driving didn’t sit well with TikTok users.

“He should be ashamed of himself drunk driving isn’t a joke,” one commented.

“Drunk driving is no joke. I agree. But I went to his concert on Tuesday and I’m still thinking about it everyday. Was awesome. 🔥” another responded.

The entertainer’s The Forget Tomorrow World Tour is his first in five years, performing songs from his forthcoming album Everything I Thought I Was.

His single Selfish is his first solo release since 2018.
