South Korean superstar Kim Soo Hyun was moved to tears while meeting his Filipino fans.

This touching moment took place on June 29, 2022, at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City during his Eyes On You fan meet organized by Wilbros Live.

Soo Hyun couldn't hold back his tears as the venue erupted in loud cheers.

This moment came after host Sam Oh congratulated him on the success of his recently concluded K-drama series, The Queen of Tears, alongside actress Kim Ji Won.

Soo Hyun paused to wipe away his tears and shared that he felt overwhelmed by the sight of his fans' smiling faces.

He said, through a translator, "Seeing everyone smiling... For the first time, looking at all these smiles and then feeling so emotional, I'm on the verge of tears."

Soo Hyun kicked off the event by delivering a heartfelt rendition of Crush's song "Love You With All My Heart," featured in the OST of The Queen of Tears.

The crowd went wild upon his entrance, cheering and even singing along as the Korean actor took the stage.

After his performance, Soo Hyun connected with the local audience by greeting them in Filipino: "Kamusta ka? Ako ay si Kim Soo Hyun! Magandang gabi!"

Reflecting on the enthusiastic reception, Soo Hyun said, with the help of a translator, "When I first entered, right at my initial entrance, I wanted my performance to be spectacular. But then I could hear your cheers through my in-ear monitors.

He continued, "Because of your support to Queen of Tears, I was able to do a fan meeting here in the Philippines, so I'm very, very thankful."

To further express his gratitude towards his Filipino fans, Soo Hyun also said, "Salamat po!"

One of the segments of the fan meet was called the "Yongduri Photo Studio," where Soo Hyun shared the stories behind some of the photos he posted on Instagram.

One of the featured photos was taken during his stay in Germany, where he posed under the sun with his jacket slipping down his arm, revealing his shoulder.

Talking about the photo, Soo Hyun said, as translated in English, "I think you all know where I took this picture and what I was doing when I took this picture, right?

"This is the scene when I was in Germany and I met Haein's parents."

Sam followed up with a question that made the entire venue erupt in screams, asking whether he had intentionally slipped off his jacket to show his shoulder.

Soo Hyun answered, "It wasn't like that in the morning, but around lunchtime, the sun was so hot."

Loud screams filled the venue as Soo Hyun recreated the scene with his blazer, saying, "That's why I [slipped it down my shoulder]."

KIM SOO HYUN'S FAN INTERACTIONS

A standout moment of the fan meet was when Soo Hyun attempted to decode popular Filipino slang.

The first word he tackled was "omsim," which meant "correct" or "that's right." The audience couldn't help but laugh when he guessed it meant "tonkatsu."

Next, he learned the slang "eme lang" or "charot," which means "just joking."

Spotting an attendee using a hand gesture while saying "charot," Soo Hyun quickly adopted it, using the expression throughout the fan meet.

In the second half of the fan meet, Soo Hyun donned an all-white outfit to play a relay game with lucky fans selected via a draw.

Twelve fans were chosen and split into two groups. The group that completed the relay game first won necklaces, personally customized by Soo Hyun for his Filipino fans.

All participating fans had the opportunity to take a group photo with Soo Hyun after the event.

KIM SOO HYUN'S PERFORMANCES

The second half of the show transformed into a mini-concert, with Soo Hyun treating fans to several performances.

He kicked things off by rocking the stage with The Calling's "Wherever You Will Go," then serenaded the crowd with Lewis Capaldi's "Someone You Loved."

Midway through the performance of "Someone You Loved," Soo Hyun forgot some of the lyrics. Addressing this, he sincerely apologized to his Filipino fans.

He said, "To be honest, the songs I performed are... hindi siya yung best. Pero I really gained alot of strength from you guys."

But the fans cheered him on, chanting "gwaenchana," which means "that's okay" in Korean.

The crowd sang along enthusiastically when Soo Hyun delivered his rendition of John Legend's "All of Me."

As the fan meet neared its end, Soo Hyun had everyone in stitches by yodeling through his final performance of "She Taught Me to Yodel," a tune he discovered after seeing Rain perform it in the movie "I'm a Cyborg, But It's Okay."

For an encore, he performed "Way Home," an OST from "Queen of Tears."

As the event drew to a close, Soo Hyun announced that he will start filming his new series next month and vowed to do his best so he can come back to see his Filipino fans again.

Through a translator, he shared, "Starting next month, magshu-shoot po ako ng drama. I will do my best for a great work, and put in a lot of effort for a great work...

"And I'll try to come back here to see you guys once again. Thank you guys so much."

Before leaving the stage, he expressed his gratitude to his fans and revealed plans for his return to the country later this year.

Soo Hyun said, as translated in English, "This year, I think I will be coming back to the Philippines once again. See you then, and everyone, stay healthy. Smile a lot everyone."
