Wimbledon 2024 doubles draw in full as Andy Murray aims for dream final appearance
Andy Murray and brother Jamie will play Rinky Hijikata and John Peers at Wimbledon after being named as doubles wildcards.
The two-time singles champion’s participation at the tournament was in doubt after struggling to shake off a back issue. But he was confirmed to be a wildcard alongside his brother Jamie.
The Scottish brothers are one of seven mens’ doubles wildcards handed places - all of which being British entrants. And Murray has now found out who he will be playing.
Friday’s doubles draw pitted them against John Peers and Rinky Hijikata. It gives Murray, 37, a chance to round off his Wimbledon career with success.
He previously expressed his desire to play once more at the All-England club, while his participation in the doubles was more likely than in the singles’ tournament. Speaking ahead of Wimbledon, he said: “I feel that I deserve the opportunity to give it until the very last moment to make that decision. It’s complicated and it’s made more complicated because I want to play at Wimbledon one more time."
He added: “It has been mentioned to me: ‘Are you going to withdraw before the draw at 10 a.m. on Friday?’ And I’m like, ‘Well, no, I’m not. I’m going to wait until the last minute,”
“This is not clear-cut, where I am 100% going to be ready to play or there is a 0% chance that I can play. That is the situation. I would say it’s probably more likely that I’m not able to play singles right now.”

The Murray brothers will now be aiming to become just the second wildcard Wimbledon men’s doubles champions since Jonathan Marray and Frederik Nielsen in 2012. Murray has also never won a doubles tournament at Wimbledon, with his only successes at the All England Club coming in singles.
Elsewhere in the mens’ draw, number one seeded Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos will take on French duo Arthur Fils and Ugo Humbert. Rajeev Ram has teamed up with British star Joe Salisbury and they take on William Blumberg and Casper Ruud in the first round of the doubles competition.
Away from doubles, Murray has also learned his singles fate after the draw was completed. He will play Tomas Machac but only if he is fit enough.
The draw for the ladies' doubles tournament was also completed on Friday. Number two in the world Coco Gauff has teamed up with Jessica Pegula and will take on UIkrainian duo Anhelina Kalinina and DayanaYastremska
The mixed doubles draw will take place on Wednesday, July 3.
