PETALING JAYA: Malaysians visiting India may obtain a 30-day double-entry electronic visa at no cost from July 1.
The Indian High Commission said the initiative will run until June 30, 2025.
In a statement, it said applications may be made online through the Indian visa portal.
The e-tourist visa must be used within 120 days of issuance.
“The existing rules regarding e-tourist visas and other categories will continue to apply,” it said.
The commission said those opting for normal paper visas via outsourced service providers or directly through the commission will still be required to pay the prescribed visa fees.
The standard e-tourist visa fee is about RM465, payable online.
Indian passport holders travelling to Malaysia are eligible for visa-free entry into Malaysia for up to 30 days from Dec 1, 2023 until Dec 31 this year.
