Shaggy throwing out first pitch at Jays game
The Toronto Blue Jays back on the diamond tonight for their second game against the Yankees. But before the game actually begins, there's a special guest throwing out the first pitch. Lindsay Dunn is at the Rogers Centre tonight with someone who knows a little bit about both baseball and music. Lindsay, joining me is Grammy Award winner. And for a career first for you, you are throwing out your first. Sarah, what are the nerves like? Did you get any advice from any players? Make sure it goes off the pitch. You know, my first time. I you know, it's it's it's exciting and something I I will say that'd be cool. So yeah, let's see how it goes tonight, You know, do you want to try batting practice after? Like, you think you could hit a dinger out of the ballpark? No, don't know. Well, my thing is sometime cricket, you know what I mean? So, you know, baseball is all not only is this your first time throwing out a ceremonial first pitch, but you'll be performing at a new concert venue for you. But I'm sure you can feel that energy from Canadian fans. You know, you don't know what to expect. But you know, what I've been told is that it's a pretty, pretty lovely venue there with 112 tomorrow. And, and I think the audience is just going to come. And, you know, we're we have songs that are the soundtracks of of a lot of people live over three decades. So we're just going to play them and we're going to make that that that place rock. We talk about the soundtrack of people's lives over three decades. Next year will be 30 years of Mr. Boombastic. Why do you think that song has resonated with people so much? And where's the most random place you've heard it? You know, it's the gift that keep giving. It just gets bigger and bigger. It just, it just went over a billion in stream it, which is different because it's funny because it's sold so much before and then became a building of streams afterwards. I've heard it everywhere, man, all around the world. I've been blessed with this record becoming a record that was number one in almost in pretty much every country. So you know, I'm happy people still walk on to me and said it wasn't me and I say yeah, it wasn't. So well now I'm hoping they come up to you and say move because that song is often you know, it is the upcoming song this summer. What did you love about this song? And also Co producing it? I like to feel good vibe of it. You know, when it when we did it, I didn't plan on putting it out. I just I did it. I love how it sound. I said this feels like summer. This brings a lot of smiles and joy and it just feels like a feel good record and I just say, hey, let's go with it. And Lab B was just so wonderful and insane and excited. She's a young artist and you know, we're out here just, you know, knocking away. I got to go back to Mr. Boombastic for a moment because it was blaring. You hear people singing back to you, but what is your favorite part to sing about that about Mr. Boombastic? You know what? It's the identity of Shaggy. When you think of Shaggy is like Mr. Boombastic and it's a record, I just, you know, those songs are magic. You know, you, you don't know what they're going to do or how to do it, but you know when you do that, there's something special and you just got to hold on to the coattail and run with it. We're really excited to see you throw out the ceremonial first performing tomorrow night. They'll go check them out at the mall.
