Carlos Yulo is heading to France on Saturday to prepare for the Paris Olympics 2024.
The Filipino gymnast will take part in a training camp in Metz, a city located in northeastern France, according to a report by Jhomer Apresto on Dobol B TV.
Yulo told the press at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 on Saturday that he is now 70- to 80-percent prepared to compete in the Olympics.
Yulo’s team aims to strengthen his stamina. His occupational therapist Hazel Calawod said that Yulo will immediately take part in training once he lands in France. The team will further focus on Yulo’s performance in the ring and mental focus before the Olympics.
Yulo added that he will bring the lessons he learned from the Tokyo Games, such as confidence in every move.
In May, Yulo earned four gold medals in the 2024 Asian Gymnastics Union Men's Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Uzbekistan.
