Barca agree new contract with starlet Dani Rodriguez
Barcelona have reached agreement with starlet Dani Rodriguez over a new contract at the club.
The teenager had been tipped to leave the club this summer, as a host of teams were interested in his signature.
However, Diario Sport are reporting he’s reached “total agreement” with Barcelona over an extension despite receiving “tempting offers” from elsewhere.
Tottenham, Athletic Club and Real Sociedad had all expressed interest in the youngster whose current had been set to run out at the end of the month.
However, he will now continue with the Catalans and try to catch the eye of Hansi Flick while playing for Rafa Marquez’s Barcelona Atletic.
Rodriguez was called up to train with the first-team on occasions last season and caught the eye with a particularly memorable strike in the UEFA Youth League.
He will now stay on, but there will be plenty of changes for Barca Atletic with Marc Casado and Hector Fort moving up to the first team and Marc Guiu heading for Chelsea.
