Prince William attends Energy Summit with Bill Gates
How are you? Good to see you, Johnson, Coca-Cola, Mesa, General Motors, lots of acquits. And it's should I tell you about the technology? Yeah, Don't go too deep. Well, we'll go as deep as you. At the same time, we can cut the energy intensity of that production in half because they'll also clip on the compressors, chillers, boilers, all the production equipment. And we can point where to improve energy efficiency as well. Really impressive. And how, how new is this kit to the AI development? Is this really cutting edge? It's getting better every second. So we release 100 plus new features a year. The AI that we have the ultra rare event detection on these machines, there's no other AI, right? We're going to move on to some. Thank you so much. Thank you so much. That's really interesting. Thank you. All right, everyone, we did recently with a designer, it's worth touching and feeling this is Lion Cells. So this was made from the cotton that came from the waste polycotton. We turned this into cellulose pulps and waste polycotton. So what we do is we take the cotton cellulose and we turn that into a man made fiber called Lion Cell. You most know it from like the suit linings and maybe. All right. So we're just a lot of math right half this way. And I'll leave you at the Green Room for please Welcome to the stage, founder and president of the Earth Shop Prize, His Royal Highness Prince William. Thank you to Bill Gates and Breakthrough Energy for bringing together this brilliant collection of investors, philanthropists and environmental innovators and for inviting me to join you today. For me, a big part of this week is about celebration. Celebrating the incredible minds that are working all around the world, night and day on climate solutions, celebrating the individuals and organisations who are supporting them, and celebrating the progress we've already made. Back in 2020, inspired by the wealth of climate creativity and innovation I saw in the United Kingdom and around the globe, I started having conversations about how to mobilize the enormous power of innovators to repair and regenerate our planet by 20-30. Fast forward four years and the Usher Prize and its partners have identified over 3000 of the best environmental solutions scouring every corner of the planet. We have spotlighted 45 solutions with the promise of global impact as finalists for the Earthshot Prize and we will celebrate another 15 finalists later this year in Cape Town. It is in part thanks to those who believed in us in those early days that we've been able to get to where we are today. The support of Breakthrough Energy as one of our founding partners has been crucial to the success of the prize. For me, the magic behind the success we've enjoyed so far has been the powerful model for growth that we've built. We're not only discovering, selecting and awarding transformative solutions from around the world, we're also shining a light on them, introducing them to networks of influence and resources and providing them with vital communities of support. As well as awarding £15,000,000 in prize money to date, we've helped catalyse £70 million in additional investment in support of our finest by leveraging over close partnerships and expansive networks. This is why I believe platforms like the Ershock Prize and Breakthrough Energy are so critical to accelerating, replicating and scaling solutions like the ones here today. It's no surprise that many of ershock Prize finalists and winners are also Breakthrough Fellows, together with the support of the Ershop Prize and Breakthrough Energy. Environmental solutions like Cirque's recycled fabrics, 4401's natural carbon capture technology, and Takachar's mobile bioreactors are all on a fast track to deliver real impact around the world. This is what gives me hope that we are taking the right steps to repair our planet. Cirque has partnered with some of the world's biggest fashion brands to start to tackle the massive challenge of textile waste. 4401 is working with national governments to remove carbon pollution from the air and store it safely underground. And Takachar is working with the World Food Programme to reduce crop waste and create additional income for rural farmers. And they're just getting started. Today, we celebrate the innovators, entrepreneurs, and optimists, as well as the allies and investors, providing the necessary support along their journey to scale. Together, we will create a sustainable future for generations to come. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, Prince William. Wow, right?
