Buffalo Bills’ record vs. 2024 opponents during Josh Allen era
The start of Buffalo Bills training camp is just around the corner, which means before we know it the regular season will be at our doorstep. In recently reviewing details about the Bills’ 2024 schedule, Buffalo Rumblings has brought you the numbers about some of the key players the Bills will be facing this season.
This time we’re changing it up a bit, focusing now on quarterback Josh Allen. In his career, how has Allen stacked up in the regular season against the teams he’ll be facing this year?
Let’s take a look...
Ten
Represents the number of regular-season wins Allen has against the Miami Dolphins. They may be a division foe, but Allen has owned the Dolphins to this point in his career. He has only lost to Miami twice: Once was due to an incompletion that most think should have been caught by tight end Charles Clay, and the other was in the Miami heat where things just didn’t end well for the team.
As for the two other teams in the AFC East, Allen has a 6-5 record against the New England Patriots and a 7-4 record against the New York Jets. An overall 23-11 against the division is a large reason why Buffalo has been division champs the past few seasons.
Six
Six is the number of regular-season losses Allen has against the AFC South. As luck would have it, the Bills face every team in the AFC South this season. Allen is 1-2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, 1-1 against the Houston Texans, 0-1 against the Indianapolis Colts, and 3-2 against the Tennessee Titans. If this team wants to maintain their dominance in the regular season then Allen and the Bills have to play better against those teams. Interestingly, the Bills and Allen are only 5-6 in head-to-head games with the AFC South.
One
There’s only been one time to this point in his career that Josh Allen has lost to the NFC West. Most recall that loss, handed to the Bills via the now-infamous “Hail Murray” of the Arizona Cardinals. Allen is a combined 4-0 when lining up against the Seattle Seahawks, Las Angeles Rams, and the San Francisco 49ers. Buffalo will play the Seahawks and Rams on the west coast, but fear not: Allen already has a regular-season victory against the Rams in LA, and he’s beaten the 49ers before in San Francisco. The Allen-led Bills are 4-1 to this point in their head-to-head matchups with the NFC West.
As for the remaining opponents on the Buffalo Bills’ 2024 schedule, Allen is 3-1 against the Kansas City Chiefs, 2-0 against the Detroit Lions, and 1-1 against the Baltimore Ravens. That gives Buffalo and Allen a combined record to this point of 6-2 against some of the best regular-season competition in today’s NFL.
All told, the Buffalo Bills have a combined record of 38-20 against their slate of opponents in 2024.
