The Bear season 3 hailed 'monumental' TV as fans say it's 'on another level'

The Bear is back, and fans have hailed its latest instalment as ‘monumental television’ and ‘on another level’. Available to stream now, season three of Christopher Storer’s acclaimed comedy-drama sees Carmy and crew vying for a Michelin star for the titular restaurant.

The hit series follows Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto, a successful young chef who returns home to Chicago to run his family’s sandwich shop after his brother’s death, eventually transforming it into a fine dining establishment. As per the official synopsis, season three joins Carmy and the team as they do what it takes to elevate the restaurant to the highest level, all while doing their best just to stay in business.

It’s a losing battle every single day in the restaurant business, as Carmy pushes himself harder than ever and demands excellence from his crew who do their best to match his intensity. Their quest for culinary excellence will propel the crew to new levels and stress the bonds that hold the restaurant together.

All 10 episodes of The Bear season three are available to stream exclusively on Disney+, which TV fans can join from £4.99 a month. Disney+ members can get the equivalent of two months free by paying for a year upfront, bagging 12 months for the price of 10 on the Standard or Premium plans.

A 12-month subscription to the Premium plan now costs £109.90, saving £21.98 compared to paying monthly and includes higher video quality up to 4K UHD and HDR, plus the ability to stream on four devices simultaneously. This includes hit shows like Shōgun, Welcome to Wrexham and new Star Wars thriller, The Acolyte.

The Bear season three sees the return of Jeremy Allen White in the lead role as Carmy alongside Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Ayo Edebiri as Richie and Sydney respectively. Also reprising their roles are Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, Matty Matheson and Oliver Platt, with Molly Gordon back as Carmy’s love interest, Claire.

The Bear has earned its status as one of the most highly regarded shows in recent years since it debuted in 2022, having won 10 Emmys and four Golden Globes for its first season. It was also named an AFI Television Program of the Year for two years running and has a 99 per cent Rotten Tomatoes score, while its first season boasts a perfect 100.

Given fans’ reactions to the new season, it appears the show’s quality hasn’t dropped. Since it debuted on Thursday (June 27), fans have taken to social media to hail the new episodes as ‘monumental’ TV, with particular praise given to its ‘unreal’ first episode.

Writing on X, @SJTimes13 said: “The Bear season three premiere is one for the history books. This is absolutely monumental television.”

@ShaneRyanHere said: “Started The Bear season three and had that fear I sometimes get with a new season of a great show, that it will drop off. Took about 90 seconds to remember this one is on an artistic level like no other show I’ve seen and essentially can’t fail. Unreal first episode.”

@OscarFilmFC said: “Wow. Episode one is the best of the series thus far and a true work of art. A stunningly beautiful, pensive and melancholic journey through time and moments both earth-shatteringly huge and small, but precious. I was in tears throughout.”

@BrazNathan said: “The first episode of season three might be one of the most beautiful TV episodes I have ever seen. From the character depth to the music to the astonishing cinematography. I didn't want it to end.”

However, not everyone is convinced, as @salaciousbcum said: “Three episodes into the new season of The Bear. Do we still have to pretend this is a great show?”

However, @danicolang disagreed: “The Bear season three has already swept the next award seasons again.”

The Bear season three is streaming now on Disney+, watch it here.

Alternatively, a host of new shows are streaming on Amazon’s Prime Video, including season four of The Boys and post-apocalyptic action-adventure Fallout, both of which can be streamed free with an Amazon Prime 30-day trial.
