Marking the directorial debut of Sophie Tabet, Stone Cold Fox watches as the defiant Fox (Shipka) breaks out of an abusive commune in search of her family, but when the queenpin (Ritter) kidnaps her little sister and sends a crooked cop (Sutherland) after her, Fox has no choice but to infiltrate the very place she escaped.
Maiden plays Crystal, the bleeding heart of the group on the compound run by Ritter’s Goldie. Since she was taken in by Goldie after suffering a staggering personal tragedy, Crystal is willing to employ blissful ignorance of Goldie’s criminal ways in order to keep the peace… until it means betraying the people she loves.
Tabet and Julia Roth penned the script. Bee-Hive’s Stephen Braun (Sacramento) is producing alongside The Wonder Company’s Eric B. Fleischman and Chris Abernathy (Sacramento), Jonathan Craven (The Hills Have Eyes 2), Tabet and Roth, with Joe Roth (Anyone But You) serving as executive producer. Verve Ventures and the UTA Independent Film Group are representing worldwide rights to the project.
Known for recurring roles on Netflix’s Stranger Things, Jill Soloway’s I Love Dick, and Showtime’s SMILF, Maiden came to acting after rising to prominence as the first Black female professional snowboarder. Also previously seen in films like David Robert Mitchell’s Under the Silver Lake and Shudder anthology Scare Package, she’ll next be seen in the Russo brothers’ Netflix pic The Electric State opposite Chris Pratt, Millie Bobby Brown, and Stanley Tucci.
Maiden is represented by Clear Talent Group and Seven Summits Pictures & Management.
