Zelda Fans Already Have a Suggestion to Improve Echoes of Wisdom

  • Some fans of the Zelda series think changes need to be made to Echoes of Wisdom's item selection menu.
  • Echoes of Wisdom introduces Princess Zelda wielding a Tri-rod to create Echoes, exciting fans but also sparking suggestions for menu improvements.
  • Players express concern with the single-line item selection menu potentially slowing down gameplay, proposing changes like a weapon wheel for faster accessibility.

Players have seen the item selection menus for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom and want them changed. Zelda fans are known to be particularly passionate, and some fans have been split over the general direction of the franchise since The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Players have asked for the series to make a stronger return to its more structured form from games like Ocarina of Time, but The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom appears to be one of the boldest spins on the series yet.

Fans of the Zelda series have been wondering what the next release in the series might be for some time. Although players enjoyed The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom, it left them eager for even more. Echoes of Wisdom will focus on Princess Zelda, and in this adventure she will wield the Tri-rod to fight enemies and solve puzzles, creating copied items called Echoes. Although fans are excited about The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, plenty have agreed on suggesting one change to developers.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom Is Right Out of Fan Wish Lists

At long last and after countless rumors, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom checks off one of the most requested items on fans' wish lists.

A post by Reddit user Radbot13 highlights that players are tired of having a single line as the menu when selecting from countless items. Zelda's new copy ability seems like it will be a useful tool that provides players with many creative solutions to problems, but some gamers worry that much of this gameplay may come at the cost of fluidity within the experience. This frustration stems from many players' experiences with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Fans Want to Streamline Echoes of Wisdom's Item Selection

Many players enjoyed the combat in Tears of the Kingdom, and although the game was received quite well, plenty appeared to agree that they wanted a change to one detail. When using the fuse ability, combat slowed to a halt as players tried to find the right item to fuse to a weapon. Part of the reason this took so long was because the menu was in a single line, and players believe that changing this system in a few ways would improve gameplay. The simplest tweak would be expanding the menu to allow faster item selection.

There have been other popular suggestions. Some gamers have suggested the introduction of some form of a weapon wheel like in GTA, but for items. Because there are so many items, players have noted that it would be convenient if this mechanic only showed the most used ones. A system like this would cut out the need to spend what could amount to minutes searching for the right tool. Instead, players would be able to hold a button to keep the menu open, move their joystick in the direction of the item they want, and release the button to fuse. Although these aren't the only ideas, one thing is certain - players want things to work differently.
