The Boys Creator Says Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki Reunion Would 'Destroy Much of The World'

Actors Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki haven't appeared onscreen together since Supernatural aired its last episode in 2020. However, the duo is seemingly set to reunite in The Boys thanks to series creator Eric Kripke.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Kripke confirmed plans for Padalecki to join the cast of The Boys in the upcoming fifth season. He also shared his thoughts on what a reunion between the pair would mean for the show and pop culture in general. "The value of that is to break the internet. So we'll see whether it's right for the story," Kripke explained. "But yes, it's occurred to me that putting those two in a scene together would destroy much of the world, and that's appealing."

Kripke previously revealed that he had talked to Padalecki about a role in The Boys Season 5, and was in the process of working out the details. "I would love Jared to come in and do a guest spot on the show," the showrnner explained. "Not just because it's fun to bring Supernatural characters onto the show, but just because I love working with people I love and if I have an opportunity to bring family back and work with family, I'll take it and I have a lot of actors from that show who have really become family."

Padalecki Is Excited For The Boys

Padalecki later shared his thoughts about joining The Boys and was filled with praise for the series creator. "[Kripke] and I have talked about what it could look like," the actor said. "It's not written yet. He said it wouldn't really be until 2025. We wouldn't shoot until probably January-ish. [I'm game to] go play in the playground [of] the guy who created Sam Winchester. I've had good times in his playground, so I'm happy to do it again."

Jared Padalecki cameo in The Boys

The Walker actor also said that while he has some ideas for his story arc, he won't be sharing them with Kripke. "All my ideas for his time on Supernatural paled in comparison to what he came up with," Padalecki explained. "So I wouldn't even want to put anything in his head. I just want him and his f**ked up mind to think of something cool for me to come and do, and it's going to be better than anything I could have dreamed. So I'll just go with what he creates."
