Sabres Have "Very Serious Interest" in Martin Necas
Carolina Hurricanes forward Martin Necas is one of the top trade targets this offseason. He has generated a plethora of interest, and it is expected that he will find a new home shortly.
In a recent column for The Athletic, NHL insider Pierre LeBrun mentioned that the Buffalo Sabres are one of the teams with "very serious interest" in Necas.

Here's what LeBrun said on the matter:
"The hottest potato right now involves pending restricted free agent Martin Necas, who wants a change of scenery. The Canes have heard from nearly every single team in the NHL on him — I believe the Buffalo Sabres have very serious interest — but it’s getting to be crunch time if a trade is going to happen that involves a first-round pick Friday as part of the package."
The Sabres have the 11th overall pick of this year's draft, and it certainly would be a valuable asset to add to a potential Necas deal. However, as LeBrun noted, the clock is ticking if they hope to use it to land Necas, as the draft is on Friday.
With the Sabres looking to add a top-six winger this offseason, it is not surprising that they are expected to have serious interest in Necas. If acquired, he would be a massive addition to the Sabres' roster, but we will need to wait and see if their interest in him leads to them landing him.
