Labor has ‘halved’ the quarterly inflation rate
Labor MP Andrew Charlton says the Albanese government has “halved” the quarterly inflation rate.
Australia’s inflation rate rose from 3.6 per cent to 4 per cent in May.
Markets are now predicting a 67 per cent chance of a rate hike in August.
“The Liberals left inflation running at a quarterly rate of 2.1 per cent,” Mr Charlton told Sky News Australia.
“We’ve halved that.
“The trajectory we were left on by the Liberals would have prices in Australia 17 per cent higher than they were at the election.”
