Halle Berry and Mark Wahlberg Have Explosive Chemistry in “The Union” Trailer (Exclusive)
The spy film is on Netflix Aug. 16
Halle Berry is sweeping Mark Wahlberg off his feet — and into a dangerous mission.
PEOPLE has the exclusive first trailer for The Union, which stars Wahlberg as Mike, who is perfectly happy with a "simple life as a construction worker in his native New Jersey," per a synopsis.
But when his "long-lost high school sweetheart" Roxanne, played by Berry, resurfaces in his life 25 years later, his ex-girlfriend has a high-stakes job and "more on her mind than romance."
As the synopsis teases: "Knowing he’s the right man for the job, she recruits Mike on a dangerous intelligence mission in Europe that thrusts them back together into a world of spies and high-speed car chases, with sparks flying along the way."

About working with Oscar-winner Berry, 57, on the film, Wahlberg added, “I’ve always been a huge fan of her and an admirer of her work. Doing anything with Halle is very easy but also an absolute joy. Pretty much any guy or gal would do anything to win her over, so it was certainly easy when it came to me basically following her like a puppy."
"There’s a nice balance of humor and action with a story that ultimately relies on our chemistry," he said.
The Union is on Netflix Aug. 16.
