If anyone says they predicted a Kyren Wilson vs Jak Jones World Snooker Championship final this year then they are a liar, but that is the showpiece that is to come over the next couple of days in Sheffield.

Wilson is into his second Crucible final, so despite a poor season before this tournament it is not a great shock to see him in the final.

However, Jones had to come through qualifying and has never been to a ranking final in his career, so for the 30-year-old to break his duck in the biggest event of all is quite something.

The Welshman only made his Crucible debut last year but quickly proved that he is suited to the venue, reaching the quarter-finals by beating Ali Carter and Neil Robertson.

He has proved that his run in 2023 was no fluke by going all the way to the final this time around, guaranteeing the biggest financial win of his career by a huge margin.

Wilson is into a 14th ranking final so there is no comparison when it comes to experience, but Jones has upset the odds all the way through this event.

The Warrior is the favourite but the Silent Assassin will look to spring yet another surprise and get his hands on the trophy.
