The ‘Shoe’ in Columbus, Ohio is one of the most legendary college football venues in the entire sport. They routinely draw more than 100,000 fans on a weekly basis during the fall. However, they’ve amassed an impressive total attendance for their spring game as well. More than 80,000 fans showed up in their Scarlett and Grey to get their first glimpse of one of the most talented college football rosters going into the 2024 season.
“The support from Buckeye nation has been great this whole offseason and again today, we’ve got a beautiful day. Like you said, 80,000-plus. The biggest fanbase in all of America came out today, and great to be on national TV,” Day told Joel Klatt during the Fox live broadcast of the game.
“First nationally televised spring game!!! LFG!!! Feels like CFB is back…. Best roster in the nation. 80,000 in attendance. Thank you NIL,” Kyle wrote on X.
With some of the best incoming freshmen in all of college football, it’s important the Buckeyes give them a taste of what fall can be like ahead of their first season. The Buckeyes’ Spring Game is also the first ever nationally televised Spring Game ever.
