Tensions were high this week between Ireland AM presenters when it came down to one particular topic… timekeeping.
With a live show, presenters have to be in the studio, practice their introduction read and be ready for the five, four, three, two-one countdown.

However, it looks like this may not always be the case when it comes to kicking off Ireland’s only breakfast show.
Sitting down to have a chat about what interesting stories caught their eyes online or in the paper, Síomha Ní Ruairc, decided to chat about how important it is to arrive on time. This was off the back of a story that featured fans suing Madonna for failing to start her gig on time.
However, Siomha, easing in gently said ‘Now guys I think we are quite a punctual group,’ but this seemed to cause laughter from those behind the scenes.
Continuing the conversation with Elaine Crowley and Martin King, Siomha said ‘On average one of us may be sometimes later than the other two,’ with Elaine assuming the comment was pointed at her, asking ‘Me?’

Síomha brought it back to the story of Madonna before the conversation once again drifted back to arriving on time on the Ireland AM set.
Elaine hit back that the only reason she is late is because Síomha is in the make-up chair before her. But the Dublin presenter wasn’t buying it, replying, ‘Don’t give me that Elaine, the fingers are starting to be pointed now.’
Martin, caught in the middle thought he was going to have to play referee between the two and then told the audience he was off the make a cup of tea, as the tensions rose.
With the laughter coming from the staff behind the camera, we wonder if anything will change when it comes to being punctual… only time will tell!
