Waterlogged prairies to see sun and 15 degree boost on horizon
Sections of southern Alberta and southern Saskatchewan waterlogged this week as we see the risk of some localized flooding. But sun and a temperature boost is at the end of the tunnel through today into the evening, we’ll see that heavy rain persist, even some snow up and down. The foothills cold enough for that. And then as we look to tomorrow, there is a clearing trend. The sun is coming out by the end of the day, Wednesday and through Thursday as well. We’ll start to see the rain clear and the temperatures really rise. So through Wednesday, the forecast for rain for Medicine Hat is about 40 to 60mm. For vagina, you’re looking at 10 to 20. And for Medicine Hat in particular, on average for May we see 37.8mm of rain. The forecast between May 6 to 8th is 50 to 70. So we’re seeing a months worth of rain just in a couple of days and we could even beat the all time rainiest May Day on record, which is 40.1 millimeters. So we’ll see how today fares. The winds also breezy through today into tomorrow, but there is a clearing trend for tomorrow. So yes, the clearing trend and the warming trend. Tuesday’s afternoon highs were sitting at six degrees for Calgary for a forecast that’s 10° below seasonal. But through Thursday and Friday, temperatures warm.
