Après le Tour de France en 2023 (ici en photo), Demi Vollering a ajouté la Vuelta à son palmarès.

La 8e et dernière étape de la Vuelta féminine, ce dimanche 5 mai, a été remportée par Demi Vollering. La Néerlandaise de 27 ans a semé la concurrence dans la dernière montée pour conserver son maillot rouge et remporter le Tour d’Espagne. Découvrez le classement général.

Demi Vollering (SD Worx-Protime) a remporté la 10e édition de la Vuelta féminine, ce dimanche 5 mai. La Néerlandaise a parachevé son succès au classement général en remportant la 8e et dernière étape entre Madrid et Valdesqui sur 89,5 kilomètres.

Pourtant esseulée pour défendre son maillot rouge lors de l’ultime montée vers Valdesqui, la coureuse de 27 ans a attaqué à plus de 6 kilomètres du terme, distançant rapidement sa rivale italienne Elisa Longo Borghini (Lild-Trek). Dans les instants suivants, les Françaises Juliette Labous (Team dsn-firmenich) et Evita Muzic (FDJ-Suez) ainsi que Yara Kastelijn (Fenix Deceuninck), Riejanne Markus (Jumbo-Visma) et Ricarda Bauernfeind (Canyon – SRAM Racing) ne pouvaient suivre le rythme imposé.

Demi Vollering pouvait donc lever les bras à l’arrivée après avoir écrasé la concurrence. Il s’agit de sa première Vuelta et de son deuxième Grand Tour après le Tour de France 2023. Juliette Labous et Evita Muzic sont respectivement 4e et 5e.
