Uddhav Thackeray holds 4 Mumbai rallies on last day, calls MNS chief Raj 'mercenary'
MUMBAI: Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray went into overdrive on the last day of campaigning in Mumbai, holding a road show and public meetings for all four of his party's candidates in Mumbai, reports Chaitanya Marpakwar.
At 10 am, Uddhav addressed a press conference of the INDIA bloc. In the afternoon, he held a road show for Amol Kirtikar in Mumbai North West, followed by a rally in Vikhroli for Mumbai North East candidate Sanjay Patil, a public meeting in Dadar (West) for Anil Desai from Mumbai South Central and another rally in Kalachowki for Mumbai South candidate Arvind Sawant.
At his rally in Dadar, Uddhav, without naming MNS chief Raj Thackeray, described him as a mercenary.
Uddhav slammed BJP and said it had a "use and throw" policy. He said that just like in 2014, Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif was invited as a special guest for PM Modi's swearing in, PM Modi would be invited for the INDIA bloc PM's swearing in. Uddhav said he was a 'desh bhakt' (patriot) but not an 'andh bhakt' (blind follower).
He further said in Dadar, "Modi is trying to make Mumbai a beggar. A road show was held in Ghatkopar, it was a loot. The largest billboard in Asia collapsed. The exact number of deaths is not known. Modi's road show was held, with flowers scattered on his side... BMC spent money for this."
